Pedagogy

Raquele Magalhaes graduated from the Paris Conservatoire (CNSMDP) in 2011, where she obtained both the Certificat d’Aptitude (CA) and a European Master’s Degree. She is titular of her teaching position by the French Government and has held teaching positions at several conservatoires in the Paris region and in Strasbourg. She is currently Professor of Flute at the CRR Marcel Dadi in Créteil, France, and at the European Institute of Music in Vienna, Austria.

She taught for five years at the CRR de Strasbourg and at the Haute École des Arts du Rhin (HEAR), and subsequently spent eight years as a professor at the Flaine International Music Academy.

Alongside her teaching career, Raquele Magalhaes regularly gives masterclasses and leads pedagogical projects internationally. She has been invited to teach in France, Latvia, Spain, Italy, Brazil and China.

Her research in music pedagogy explores the relationship between musical interpretation and the visual arts. Her thesis, Musical Interpretation: The Contribution of the Visual Arts, led to close collaborations with composers Hugues Dufourt and Jérôme Combier, opening up new perspectives on interpretation, perception and artistic expression.

She also developed an extensive research project with composer Hugues Dufourt focusing on multiphonics and their use in musical composition. Primarily aimed at composers and flutists, this work explores the technical, expressive and compositional possibilities of multiphonic techniques on the flute.

The summer Meisterkurse welcomes top-level international students to the sumptuous Otto-Wagner Areal in Vienna, Austria. The teaching team is made up of world-renowned Artists and Professors. Students work every day with their Professor and also have the opportunity to work with a dedicated piano accompanist per class.

Student places are limited for each Professor. For this reason, a selection of videos is requested : 3 videos of different styles, if possible one with a composer of Austrian origin.

There are also orchestral repertoire sessions with maestro Jörg Birhance. Then there's a Festival to round off the project, with fine concerts given by guest artists and EMIV students.
